Why Top Dock Pro moved to CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA!?

Perhaps you are wondering why we moved from the east coast to Cape Coral? Stick around because the explanation is coming, oh and if you stay until the end, I will be sharing the BEST place to start a detailing business in the state of Florida!

Where do I start? The backstory is I moved from Ohio to the east coast of Florida in November of 2021. Top Dock Pro was established in South Florida on the east coast for 4 months before moving to Cape Coral in February of 2022. Just as we started to pick up steady work, an opportunity came up on the other coast. I had the chance to enter a mutual partnership with another boat detailing company. Now we won't mention any names because that is not what this blog is about. But the opportunity lead me to entering a lease for an apartment in Cape Coral. Crazy right? I had been detailing in three different cities in a span of 6 months!

Now this new partnership is still continuing as I write this blog. What does the future look like? Well, only time will tell but regardless both companies will be better off than where we started; serving an incredible market in Cape Coral and the surrounding areas. Top Dock Pro will continue serving our clients at the highest level. Serving the 1% of boating has always been our mission and that mission will continue. We are glad to welcome new clients into our space, set the standard for the industry in Cape Coral, and we look forward to helping the community thrive in new ways. Enough of the boring stuff right? Cape Coral offers many opportunities as a boat detailer looking to thrive in a new market. With over 400 waterfront canals and lakes, the most extensive of any city in the world, a shortage of work is never an issue. Right next to Cape Coral is Fort Myers, another stunning market that poises even more possibility. The Cape has amazing restaurants. home to many retires, families, business owners, CEO's, and is a popular vacation spot for avid boaters and marine life enthusiasts! An abundance of money flows through the area. Some of the most scenic places to check out in Cape Coral are the Sanibel and Captiva islands, Matlacha, Pine Island, Four Mile Island Ecological Preserve, and much more! Sounds pretty cool right?

Now obviously the east coast has many benefits as well! Great beaches, fine dining options, some of the best gulf courses in the country, and a never ending night life. Do I personally regret moving from the east coast to Cape Coral? Even through I intended to stay in Fort Lauderdale, for my love of the city and boating scene, the short answer is no because I would rather regret the things I did try vs. the things I didn't try. I am excited for this new opportunity and ready to serve our clients in a new market and continue building an amazing vision from the ground up. One step at time, one task at a time, one client at a time. That's the plan in short detail.

Boat washing will ONLY be available on a once per month basis which aligns with our detailing packages. Take advantage of our teak restoration services as well, we provide an extremely valuable service for teak restore and protection. Each brand offers slightly different products, all with amazing results through intentional use.

So where is the best place to detail in Florida? How about we start with Florida is the BEST place to detail in the country and probably in the world! Now when we break it down here is what I notice from my experience. The west coast and east coast are very different but both sides offer amazing opportunities and potential.

The east coast is generally less knowledgeable on detailing expectations and proposes a more diverse population, meaning it can be more difficult to start from scratch in that sort of market. How to counteract these obstacles for long-term success? Create a system for bringing on new clients, scan your clients with a set of questions and understand their needs. Don't waste your time with clients who are looking for the, "best deal." Especially if you're not one of those companies founded on that mindset. Time is money. Protect your time. The next tip is always do test spots for your clients. Results speak, words do not. Now you're ready to crush it and create a company that stands out on the boating coast of the world. Best cities: Stuart, Jupiter, Lighthouse Point, Fort Lauderdale, Miami.

Now what you've been waiting for! We finally made it :) The west coast is the easiest place, it's the best place to start a detailing company from scratch! Close-knit communities, family-based, word of mouth spreads rapidly, more educated detailing market, and money flows easier due to values. How to create long-term success? House to house marketing, fliers, strong website, good Facebook presence, and stick to your word. Build trust and reputation in your community and make a commitment to give back to your clients and to the city you service. Test spots are always recommended, especially during the start up of your company. Do these things and you will be on your way to building an elite company on the west coast. Best cities: Destin, Tampa Bay Area, Sarasota, Cape Coral, Naples.
