What Is A Ceramic Coating?
A ceramic coating is nano-technology, made up of silicone dioxide which leaves a clear hydrophobic layer on your gelcoat and other surfaces after application. It's semi-permanent, meaning it's durable... but doesn't last forever. The coating forms a bond similar to that of super glue. The chain linked molecules between bonds are small, tight, and robust.
Ceramic coatings are NOT waxes or sealants. Wax is oil-based protection, and sealants are plastic technology. Ceramic coatings have the edge because they form a physical barrier between the surface you are coating and the external environment. This prevents UV damage, fading, and the deterioration of surfaces overtime. Ceramic protection also makes cleaning your vessel much easier because stains cannot penetrate through the ceramic and into your surfaces.
